Just business, nothing personal

Yes, I realize I haven’t been posting any personal posts at all. :|

Snake! badger badger badger…

This is my first Zune game! Just managed to draw a snake and make it move. There’s something funky going on with the controls though, not properly being recognized :( Will work on it more in my “extra time”.

“Excluding U.S. and Canada”

I just had to share this, it’s just refreshing to see “excluding U.S. and Canada” for a change. :) For that, I will install the app. HAHA

Web + Mobile + Social + Nice GUI = Stickiness

At least for me. :)

A few months ago, I became quite addicted to the Texas Hold ‘Em application on Facebook. I would be playing from 10pm till 4am the next day! :| Which is probably why I stopped hehe

Just recently though, a few officemates and I have started playing again so I tried logging into the app once more. It’s come a long way from what it was a few months ago, I would say.

Aside from the UI revamp, they’ve also put in a few other things like achievements similar to the ones on XBOX Live. What’s really impressed me is how they’ve also released an iPhone application (both free and paid) that integrates with it.

This is the first game I’ve played that had this connected experience and I have to say, it really does add to the stickiness. Apps with connected experiences rank high in my books, and I think Facebook provides a solid user base to get started on. I’ll be excited to see more of these types of experiences come out. With all the new technologies and platforms coming out, I’m sure there will be a lot of them coming.
